The nose is typical '97 with rich, very ripe and overtly exotic aromas that have turned completely secondary though the big-bodied flavors are rich, round, indeed even luscious with fine detail and length, all wrapped in a somewhat edgy finish. To be sure, this is a nice enough wine but nowhere near its usual extremely high level of quality. Tasted five times with consistent notes save for one bottle that displayed heavy reduction that eventually lessened but never dissipated completely.
